Youth department announces the XXIX Contest of New Creators of Painting and Sculpture 2017

A prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded for each modality and another special one to the best work done by a minor of 18 years

The councilor of Youth, Ana Pellicer, has announced this morning, with the municipal technician José Romeu, the opening of the deadline for the presentation of works for the twenty-ninth edition of the Contest of New Creators of Painting and Sculpture that will be extended until 29 Next December.

Pellicer has indicated that they can present their creations to all young people who wish and who have, between 14 and 35 years. The works must be original and unpublished "with technique, theme and free dimensions". They will have to be "prepared" to be exhibited in the exhibition that, once again, will be in the Boca del Calvari Museum, where, moreover, the mayor stressed, that "if space permits," the Council intends to fill plants That they remain free "with the winning works in the previous editions".

Two prizes are planned: the best painting and the best sculpture. One for each category of 1,000 euros. In addition there will be a special mention to the best work presented by children under 18 years. The decision of the jury and the awards ceremony "will be on February 9 and the works will be exposed from January 17 to February 11 next year."

Finally, Ana Pellicer has encouraged the young people to participate in the contest. "We know," he said, "that we have many artists both in our city and in the Community who always fill the Boca del Calvari with color." And he recalled that they usually send works from all over Spain "and even from abroad".

For his part, José Romeu considers that Boca del Calvari is "an excellent location", the "great showcase for new artists that present themselves to the contest" and that during the "three weeks" in which the creations will remain exposed "can be Contemplated by the "numerous public that passes daily by the museum".
