02 November 2016
El XXVI Campeonato Nacional de Dardos Electrónicos vuelve a llenar el Palau d’Esports

The winners will participate, with all expenses paid, at the world championships in Shanghai or Las Vegas

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 3, until Sunday 6 at Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm, takes place the XXVI National Electronic Darts Championship, organized by the Bullshooter Dart Federation which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. The presentation ceremony was attended by the councilwoman of Sports, Ana Pellicer, the CEO of the Bullshooter Dart Federation, Rafael García and the tournament director Agustín Romero. For the moment about 6,500 'darters' are registered, although the organization estimates that some 10,000 people will come over the weekend to enjoy the competition. This event, said Ana Pellicer, which will have a "significant economic impact" in the city, for "the high number of participants and overnight stays". This becomes the championship in a "dynamic element" in low season, which is "valued very positively" by the industry and shows that "Benidorm is a privileged place to host such events that enhance sports tourism", Pellicer said. The competition will begin on Thursday with the Benidorm Cup, where they can participate not only those who attended the preliminary league, but anyone who wants to "try their luck in the world of darts" said Agustín Romero, who stressed that " the amount of entries shall be apportioned among the top three finishers ". On Friday morning the Individual Championship will be held, with four categories male and a female; in the afternoon will be the turn of couples. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary there will be a special Open sponsored by partner companies to "distribute scholarships for approximately 15,000 euros", Romero pointed, which is already confirmed the participation of first-class players. On Saturday the Team Championship with four male and two female categories will begin. The winners of the higher classes, will have the option to participate, with all expenses paid, in the International Championship to be held in Shanghai (China) or in Las Vegas (United States). Those expire at the lower levels, may do so under the same conditions in the European Championship in Italy next year. As a novelty, and also on the occasion of the 25th anniversary, the same Saturday afternoon there will be an international team competition. On Sunday the finals will be played, the trophies will be awarded and the Championship will be closed.
