The twentieth Crossing Swimming l'Illa-Port de Benidorm will be held on Sunday, August 28. The registration period will open on the 1st and will remain open until covering the 320 places provided. This was announced today by Mariló Cebreros and Mónica Gómez, councillors of Sports and Beaches respectively, areas that, together with Citizen Security, organize the event with the collaboration of the Benidorm Yacht Club and Coca-Cola.

Cebreros has indicated that "the distance that separates the isle from Mal Pas beach will be covered by swimming, a marked route of "practically 2 nautical miles, the equivalent of about 3.6 km". On the 28th, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., the numbers will be delivered to the swimmers registered at the Club Náutico facilities to then board the swallows to the Island. The competition will begin there at 8:15 a.m. in which “all the Athletes must compulsorily use a location buoy”, indicated the counsellor.

For her part, Mónica Gómez has encouraged all lovers of this sport to enrol "in one of the most traditional open water events" that take place in the Valencian Community, "in a unique bay, such as Benidorm ”.

Gómez also indicated "there will be competition in eleven categories": Absolute, Seni@r A (18-29 years), Seni@r B (30-39), Veteran@s A (40-44), Veteran@s B (45 -46), Veteran@s C (50-54), Veteren@s D (55-59), Over 60 years old, People with functional diversity, Local swimmers, and club with the highest participation.
