La Vila Joiosa student association will provide its bus service to Benidorm, with eight stops, two one-way trips and another two back until the end of the course
On Wednesday the university transport to Alicante is resumed, managed by Assoveu and subsidized by the City Council
Next Wednesday, March 10, the university transport service to Alicante is resumed. The Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, has reported that "the Vilera Association of University Students (Assoveu) will manage until the end of this 2020/2021 school year the transport to the University of Alicante of Benidorm students who join this entity"; and she has confirmed that "the City Council will continue to subsidize the students part of the cost they pay for this service."
Moreno has indicated that "the student association of La Vila Joiosa will assume this transport, which will have eight stops from Rincón de Loix to La Cala and with two outbound trips and another two back." The councillor has indicated that "in this way, in just a few days, Benidorm students will once again have transport to the UA, after last Tuesday ABEU communicated to its associates that it was suspending the service, and the Department of Education began to study and quickly manage different solutions to guarantee this transport as soon as possible ”.
Interested Benidorm university students should consult Assoveu website, https://assoveu.wordpress.com, where they will find all the information about the association registration process, registration formalization, service hours, rates and prices and other matters of interest. Students who register must download the application that gives access to the coaches, available for Android and Iphone. Assoveu's intention is to update its website tomorrow, Saturday, March 6.
Moreno has stressed that "as has been done while the service was provided through ABEU, the Department of Education will convene in a timely manner the line of grants to subsidize transport to students in Benidorm who use the buses managed by Assoveu." Likewise, she has advanced that "for the convocation of this course, the expense for using the services of ABEU and Assoveu may be justified".
The person in charge of Education thanked Assoveu "for his willingness to extend the scope of his services to Benidorm", and recalled that "the Department has studied different formulas to guarantee university transport until the end of the course, since ABEU transferred to its associates, 260 in Benidorm, their intention to try to provide this service next academic year 2021/2022 ”.
