Toni Pérez thanks Francesc Colomer for his involvement with tourism and Benidorm; Colomer points out that "the Regional Government will never be able to return to Benidorm what it contributes"

The last ordinary session of the present administration of the Board of Trustees of the Visit Benidorm Foundation was held this morning in the Plenary Hall of Benidorm City Council, chaired by Mayor Toni Pérez.

It was attended by the regional Secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, who, as soon as the session began, the mayor Toni Pérez thanked "the involvement" in defense of tourism "and his commitment" to Benidorm, sharing -he said- " the goal of working together.

Pérez stressed that "Benidorm is a singularity loaded with power" and opted for "the leadership of the brands" and "loyalty"; Loyalty, he indicated, "which has been reciprocated by Colomer", with which the Foundation considered "more than deserved" the recognition that this morning was given to him when he felt, Colomer said, "just one more servant of the sector".

Colomer pointed out "the trust and friendship" that emerged with the mayor of Benidorm, whom he pointed out as "the most important institutional figure in tourism in the Valencian Community", recalling that it was his first visit as soon as he took office. And in successive visits and work contacts, he has verified "the value and meaning" of Benidorm in tourism.

The regional secretary highlighted the work of Visit Benidorm in terms of "efficiency, reputation and prestige" and concluded by stressing that "everything that it contributes to the Valencian Community can never be returned to Benidorm".
In today's session, the minutes of the previous session have been unanimously approved, the position of vice-president modified, the annual accounts approved, and the Activities Report and the #Challenge2023 Strategic Plan presented.

There have been 214 actions in 23 countries in which 34 fairs, 29 blog trips, 20 workshops, 54 presentations, and 17 fam trips have been attended, as well as other actions in projects and collaborations. Through influencers, 24 million impacts have been achieved and the advertising and co-marketing campaigns have been detailed, which have reported 411 million impacts.

For its part, the Operational Plan of Actions can be summarized in 18 markets with their corresponding analyses, worked on 8 new products and the traditional areas of projection of the Benidorm brand, explaining the calendar of campaigns that are developed annually from April and February. In particular, the latest comarktimng campaign in the United Kingdom carried out in the last months of January and February has managed to generate more than 137,000 vacation packages that will represent more than 823,000 overnight stays.

In the last round of interventions of this board, since the new corporation will have new municipal representatives, the president of Hosbec, Federico Fuster praised the event policy developed for "the impact and positioning that it gives Benidorm". Along the same lines, the patron Vicente Ferrer has thanked the "repositioning in the cultural sphere that Benidorm achieves with the works of Jaume Plensa in Plaça del Castell" and other initiatives of this level.

Congratulating the work of Visit Benidorm, the spokesperson for the Popular Party, Lourdes Caselles, spoke "thanking the Foundation for its work" and, in the same sense, the councilor for the Socialist Group Rubén Martínez who thanked "the presidency for the treatment received", highlighting "the good work carried out" and "the cordial relationship beyond the mere activity of the Foundation and the Board of Trustees".
Finally, the mayor, as president of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation, has highlighted "the public-private alliance beyond statutory interests" and congratulated both the vice president Toni Mayor, who has been since the beginning of the Foundation and the secretary, Nuria Montes, to the Visit Benidorm team -for "having given prestige to the activity and increased the reputational value of the Benidorm brand"- and to the city, "which has accompanied the initiatives undertaken".

Toni Pérez considers the challenge of undoing inveterate clichés about the city and “breaking barriers” in promotion “overcome”.

Finally, Pérez pointed out that "today we close a cycle of the Benidorm Tourism Foundation and we enter administrative transit until the constitution of the new City Council", but "without stopping working for Benidorm".
