Visionmar Optical Center, Contalles and El Niño Restaurant have been the three award-winning establishments in "#BenidormTeEspera" Contest. The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Commerce, Lorenzo Martínez, have personally communicated to the winners the decision of the technical jury and have presented them with the prizes, which amount to 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros respectively.

These awards add to the general prize of 500 euros that the rest of the participants will receive, 2,770 establishments and passenger transport vehicles, and that raises the economic injection into the local productive fabric made by the City Council to about 1.4 million euros. through this initiative.

The mayor thanked all the participants of the contest who “have joined this initiative en masse” and that “have used their creativity and effort with the double objective of increasing the visibility of Benidorm on social networks and showing the world what it offers; a dynamic city, with a productive fabric that is struggling to maintain its activity in these difficult times and that is eager to receive and serve visitors as soon as the reactivation of mobility is a fact ”.

Toni Pérez recalled that this '#BenidormTeEspera' "is part of the measures designed by the City Council to support the local productive fabric against the effects of the pandemic", adding to other measures that have already been made effective such as direct aid to companies, businesses, SMEs and the self-employed; those related to the receipt of garbage; the suspension of the fee for the installation of tables and chairs; or the Christmas Window Dressing Contest.

The general access to ‘#BenidormTeEspera’ will begin to take effect in the coming days, once the contest enters its final phase. A contest that started on February 5 until March 22, and that has included the campaigns of Valentine's Day and Saint Joseph.

When determining the awards, the technical jury has viewed the publications made by the participants on their social networks to evaluate the decoration of each of the establishments or vehicles in relation to the criteria established in the contest rules, which were: creativity, originality, thematic setting, aesthetic assembly and complexity, and the publication itself on social networks ”. Subsequently, the jury visited the establishments with the highest scores and chose the three winners.
