The events planned by Fiestas, Culture and Education will begin on October 7
Benidorm will have a full program of events to celebrate the Day of Valencia, 9 d'October, organized by the department of Education, Culture and Fiestas, as well as the Comissió of Festes Majors Patronals. This program incorporates a market of typical products, music and theater, in addition to the traditional institutional plenary session. The councilor of culture, Ana Pellicer; the councilman for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; and the president of the Comission, Manuel Agüera, presented on Thursday this program that will begin on Friday 7 October with the opening of a 'Traditional Mercat' of the Festes Majors Patronals in the streets Martínez Alejo and Gambo, and the representation of a musical 'Festa Major'. This musical, in Valencian language will be represented at Gambo street at 21.30 and is free. On Saturday 8, students from 6th year of Ausiàs March school will represent the play "The conquesta of Valencia in l'any 1238 'at 18.30 in Gambo street. In addition, at L'Aigüera Park will take place from 18.00 the 'Holly Sound Festival', with the collaboration of the Comissió of Festes Majors Patronals. The first thousand tickets will be priced at 6 euros, and the following 8 euros. The Comissió president indicated that this event will be geared to families until 22.00, and from there to younger audience. On Sunday October 9, Day of the Region, programming starts with the traditional institutional plenary session at 11.00 at Plaza del Castillo. This event will present the Cultural Distinció 'Ciutat de Benidorm' to Professor Francisco Amillo. Later, in the 'Traditional Mercat', queens and ladies of Patronals Festes Majors will dance 'the peuet'. In the afternoon, at 19.00, the Musical Union will give a concert in Gambo street. The councilman for Fiestas indicated that during the three days there will be musical entertainment in the 'Traditional Mercat', and encouraged residents and visitors to enjoy and collaborate with the Comisió of Festes Majors Patronals.
