The traditional Corpus Christi procession will pass through the center of Benidorm this Sunday

The streets of downtown Benidorm will once again be filled with flowers and myrtle for the traditional Corpus Christi procession next Sunday, the feast day during which the Catholic Church venerates the Eucharist, carrying the Blessed Sacrament in procession under a canopy. The procession will depart just after 7:30 p.m. from the parish church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna and will travel along Calle Mayor, Alameda del Alcalde Pedro Zaragoza, Plaza de La Creu, Passeig de la Carretera, and Calle Santa Faz, before returning to the church.
The Councilor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, explained that along the route, "members of La Barqueta Cultural and Recreational Association and members of the parish will set up the three altars in Plaza de San Jaime, the 'Palmera', and the Carretera," where the procession will make the traditional stops for prayer and blessing.
In addition to the faithful, priests, and local authorities, all the boys and girls from the various parishes in Benidorm who have received their First Communion this year will participate in this procession, along with the girl who performed the Easter Sunday song "L'Ambaixà," family members, and friends.
