Benidorm Tapas and Pinchos Competition reaches its 15th edition with record participation

Today, the proposals that will be considered for the vote of the popular jury and experts were presented.

The 15th edition of the Benidorm Tapas and Pinchos Competition will again break a new participation record this year, with 23 participating establishments. This afternoon, the Domingo Devesa City Hall hosted the presentation of this latest edition of the competition, which will be held from June 20th to 29th, as part of the annual Benidorm Gastronomic 2025 program. The city's mayor, Toni Pérez, was accompanied at this event by representatives of the participating bars and restaurants, along with Alex Frattini, vice president of Abreca; Licinio García, sponsor of the Benidorm Gastronomic 2025 competition; the technical jury, who have already tasted and voted on the tapas; and other members of the local council. During his speech, the mayor praised "the quality and variety" of Benidorm's culinary offerings, recalling that this activity, "which launched 'Benidorm Gastronómico,' is now a consolidated brand and a showcase for the wide and varied quality of our hospitality and restaurant sector." The mayor celebrated the number of participating establishments and noted that "now all we need is for other participants to come along and participate: first, by enjoying that tapa or pincho; then, by voting; and above all, by enjoying the delicacies offered by all the restaurants participating."

Toni Pérez thanked these local businesses for their commitment to "raising the quality of our offering every day, because it allows us to reach out to increasingly demanding customers and visitors." And finally, he invited the public to participate in this event. He stated that the record participation in this edition is parallel to the record that Benidorm is also experiencing in all areas, because this 25th year is progressing very well in numbers, but also in the quality of the destination."

The 23 establishments that will take part in this '15th Tapas and Pintxos Competition' are: Baldó, Cervecería L'Abadia, Chiringuito Beach, DNI Ibéricos, El Bodegón Aurrerá, Elk Mesón, Esturión, Freiduría Los Peces, La Brasería Aurrerá, La Cava Aragonesa, La Fava, La Juana, La Pinta, La Pinta Beach, La Tabernita del Sur, La Tapería, Malaspina, Marisquería El Puerto, Molta Pasta, Pinocchio Playa, Pintxos Aurrerá, Rock'n'Ribs, and Taberna Andaluza.

As explained by Álex Fratini, all of them will offer their dishes for 3.50 euros from June 20th to 29th. In addition to tasting them, the public will be able to vote for their favourite tapa or pincho to win the public prize. A dinner for two worth 60 euros will be raffled off for customers participating in the vote at any of the participating establishments.

At the same time, a jury composed of industry experts will vote to award the prizes for this competition. According to the vice president of Abreca, they had the opportunity to taste and vote today, but their verdict will not be known until after the event.

This '15th Tapas and Pinchos Competition' is the third event of 'Benidorm Gastronomic 2025', following the '13th Spoon Days' and the '5th Jornadas del Atún'. The program will continue in September, from the 19th to the 28th, when you can sample the different offerings of the 'IV Cocktail Competition', while from October 17th to the 26th, rice dishes will take centre stage with the 'XIV Earth Rice Days'.
