Tomorrow Carlos Cipelletti opens the Cycle of Great Recitals in the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council
The Department of Culture begins the cycle of Great Recitals tomorrow Friday with the presence of Carlos Cipelletti and his 'Latin Jazz Solo Piano' concert. The appointment will be at 8 p.m. in the Assembly Hall and entry will be free, although limited to the capacity of the venue.
Carlos Cipelletti is a Spanish pianist, composer and arranger with Franco-Cuban roots. He is a two-time winner of the Latin Grammy Foundation Scholarship and a four-time winner of the Spanish Association of Artists and Performers Scholarship. Awarded first prize in the Málaga International Jazz Festival Competition, Portón del Jazz and in the '7 Virtual Jazz Club', he has also been distinguished for his outstanding academic achievements at the Alfonso X el Sabio University.
His most recent project and first album, titled HYBRID/C, is a musical and cultural fusion project with a common point that is Afro-Cuban music and jazz, which serves as a vehicle on this journey to the roots of Cuban music and Afro-Cuban culture from a modern musical perspective.
The album includes the traditional Afro-Cuban jazz sextet format (trumpet, tenor sax, piano, double bass, congas/batá and drums) and a seventh element, electronics and synthesizers.
