Students of Primary from Benidorm commemorate the centenary of Gloria Fuertes birth
This afternoon has taken place in Benidorm City Hall a reading of poems by Gloria Fuertes, on the occasion of the centenary of her birth, which involved students and teachers of Primary from Nuestra Señora de los Dolores and Leonor Canalejas school.
The act was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who also holds the competences of Education. This initiative is the result of the work of a group of young teachers from both schools who recognize in the figure of Fuertes the cultural reference of their first readings when they were children and have not hesitated to encourage the rest of schools in Benidorm to join the commemoration of the poetess' centenary.
Gloria Fuertes (1917-1998) was representative of the first generation of creators of the postwar period, related to the Generation of the 50 and the poetic movement 'postismo'. Fuertes became very popular in Spain in the seventies of the last century, thanks to her collaborations in children's programs of Spanish Television as 'Un globo, dos globos, tres globos', reference for a whole generation of Spaniards.
