Benidorm organizes a meeting of experts to study gender violence from the health field

Among the activities scheduled by Benidorm City Council on the occasion of the International Day against Gender Violence, which will be celebrated around the world on Saturday, November 25, Thursday, at 6.30 pm, will be held in the Municipal Assembly Hall the 'Day against gender violence' that will address the treatment of this social scourge from the health field.

The day will be presented by the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll, has been organized by the City Council with the collaboration of the Department of Health of the Marina Baixa of the Ministry of Health and Universal Public Health and will have as speakers Rosa Louis Cereceda, manager of the organism and Antonio Santonja, medical director of the health center. "Gender violence," Paquita Ripoll said, "is a health problem of the first order." The public health system "can, and should, play a key role in the early detection of this social scourge". The mayor has stressed that "we must not forget that the abuse becomes evident when the victim goes to the health center and here the public administrations must also act firmly."

On the occasion of the celebration of this day, the City of Benidorm has made a video that will be screened for the first time in the Assembly Hall during the day. A work that has involved the participation of more than a hundred residents in a disinterested way, in support of the victims and denouncing gender violence that will be disseminated through social networks, and the usual channels of municipal communication.
