Sports acquires a mobile crane to facilitate swimming in Palau d'Sports pool for people with reduced mobility
The Department of Sports has acquired a mobile crane to facilitate swimming in the pool of Palau d'Esports l'Illa to people with reduced mobility. The councilor of the area, Mariló Cebreros, explained that "to date we only had a fixed crane in the small pool, so when a person with reduced mobility wanted to swim in the large glass, users had to be helped manually ". "Now with the crane that access is much more convenient, safe and comfortable for users," he added.
The acquisition of this mobile crane has meant an investment close to 7,000 euros, and the first users have already been able to use it.
Cebreros stressed that “there are many people with reduced mobility who regularly go to the Palau d'Esports pool since the practice of adapted swimming brings great benefits. Therefore, progressively we are making improvements that facilitate access and development of this and other sports activities at Palau facilities. ”
Thus, it is expected that the accessibility of the changing rooms will be improved in the near future and specific furniture will be acquired for people with reduced mobility; two actions that will involve an investment of 6,790 euros.
The total investment in accessibility in the Palau amounts to 13,548 euros.
