The Spanish delegation in Turkey holds working meetings with TUI and the mayor of Antalya
The delegation of Benidorm and the Costa Blanca that has moved to Antalya, the main tourist region of Turkey, has held several meetings this morning with representatives of the hotel sector in the area and with leaders of the tour operator TUI. After visiting a five-star hotel resort, they have had an official reception at Antalya Town Hall, with the mayor, Menderés Túrel, holding a meeting in which they discussed issues of mutual interest and the tourism evolution of the region.
In fact Antalya is considered the Turkish Benidorm because in the 70s it was a small coastal city whose airport barely registered a couple of flights a day, and today it registers more than a thousand daily. Antalya is the heart of tourism in Turkey, even ahead of Istanbul, and every year millions of visitors are attracted by the sun, the beach and an attractive hotel offer.
The mayor of Antalya has shown his interest in knowing the city of Benidorm, and is very knowledgeable of Spain for his work as a President of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce. During the meeting held, the value of the Benidorm model has been highlighted, where the destination is the main attraction, while in the Turkish model the main attraction is the hotel resort. The mayor of Antalya has shown interest in visiting Benidorm with the aim of knowing in depth the advantages of the vertical model and how he has managed to integrate tourists into the dynamics of the compact city.
Exploring the tourism of Antalya region is one of the objectives of the business and institutional mission organized by VisitBenidorm and Hosbec led by the mayor, Toni Pérez and the president of Hosbec, Toni Mayor, the director of the VisitBenidorm Foundation , Leire Bilbao, Nuria Montes, of Hosbec and by the director of the Costa Blanca patronage, Jose Mancebo, the marketing director of Turismo Comunitat Valenciana, Carmen Sahuquillo, and several hotel businessmen
