Societat Musical L'Illa celebrates its XXV anniversary with a great concert at the Cultural Center
Societat Musical L'Illa de Benidorm celebrates its XXV anniversary this week with a program that will end on Sunday at the Cultural Center with a concert in honor of Santa Cecilia.
The program was presented today at a press conference by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who was accompanied by the secretary of the Society, Sofía Rubio, and the manager's member, Conrado Jimena.
Societat Musical L'Illa de Benidorm was created on September 17, 1997, and is currently made up of some 60 musicians and more than 250 members, with a young band but with highly experienced musicians from various groups. L'Illa has performed concerts in the Valencian Community and other territories of the country, in addition to having performed in Portugal and Italy proudly bearing the name of the city.
The acts of the 25th anniversary began last Sunday with the concert in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall of La Romántica de El Saladar and continue today with a mass in honor of Santa Cecilia in the Buen Pastor church at 7:30 p.m. After the ceremony, a plaque will be unveiled on Sant Andreu street commemorating the founding date of the Societat Musical in 1997.
The next act will take place on Friday with the conference 'El Tirant lo Blanc fet Música' at 7:30 p.m. at the Cultural Center. Another conference will be held on Saturday under the title 'Gifts, Music and Science', at 7:00 p.m. also at the Cultural Center.
The concert on Sunday, November 27 will put an end to the program.
This extraordinary concert in honor of Santa Cecilia will be at 11 in the morning at the Cultural Center and will be directed by Felipe Juan Lanuza in which "very significant works for the history of the Society" will be performed, according to the secretary of the same Sophia Rubio.
The program for this concert will begin with Jaime Teixidor's pasodoble 'Gloria al trabajo'. It will continue with the suite 'Ball de Lletres' by Ximo Cano, the suite for band by Hidas Frigyes, the pasodoble 'Andrés contrabandista' by Óscar Navarro, the descriptive suite 'El sorior y la orden de Uclés' by Teodoro Aparicio and will end with the symphonic suite 'Alejandro Magno' by Miquel Morales.
The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, has invited "neighbors and tourists to all these scheduled events, especially to the concert on Sunday at the Cultural Center, with which the three Benidorm bands will have already performed in its auditorium".
