Caritas will distribute 240 sneakers and 200 kg of candy in the seven parishes of Benidorm
The councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca, have presented this morning an initiative of Club Leones that will donate 240 pairs of new shoes and 200 kg of candy to the neediest people in Benidorm through Cáritas.and the seven parishes of the city . Ángela Llorca appeared before the media accompanied by the president of Club Leones,
Vicente Saval and the local indusrialist, Adolfo Murillo. The councilwoman thanked the work carried out by the organization in Benidorm that has more than 1.3 million members distributed among 46,000 clubs settled in 207 countries around the world. Vicente Saval pointed out that this activity, together with the workshops on prevention of gender violence organized recently by the club, have occupied much of the social action of the institution that, under the motto "we serve" aims to "reach the maximum number of people”. The President of Lions Club thanked the support received from Social Welfare because "they are always helping associations" and specifically in the organization of solidarity initiatives. She has also positively valued the "generous" attitude of Adolfo Murillo for his donation that will delight the smallest needy with candies. The budget for this action reaches 3,000 euros, a good part of which has been collected from all partners during the summer. Unlike last year when the Club organized a party with children, this time it has been preferred to invest everything in the shoes that will be distributed anonymously by Cáritas in the parishes of Benidorm.
