Skyline Benidorm Film Festival launches its website and presents the image of its 5th edition

Skyline Benidorm Film Festival has launched its new website today and has released the image of its 5th edition, in which a participation record has been reached with a total of 455 short films registered. The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and the director of the event, Beatriz Hernández, have explained that on the new website https://skylinefest.es/ “users will be able to find all the information related to this in Spanish, Valencian and English fifth edition held from June 25 to July 4, 2021 ”.

Both have indicated that “the design of the web revolves around the image of this 5th edition of the festival, which is a work by Rafa Morata. As in previous years and in clear allusion to the name of the festival, the iconic 'skyline' of Benidorm is present, to which is added our island, an element and hallmark of the city ”, they added.

On the content of the web, there is a section dedicated to the history of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival and information on the bases and the team in charge of the organization. In addition, a specific space has been created on the 5th edition where, in the near future, the list of short films selected in the Official and European Sections will be published, the novelty of this 2021. In this same section, the activities will also be progressively reported complementary to the festival, the script contest, the Shorpitch, the composition of the jury and the exhibitions related to the contest. And while waiting for all the information of the 5th edition, users can check how the previous deliveries of the Skyline were.

The Councilor for Culture has pointed out that “with the presentation of the website and the image and poster of the 5th edition, the Skyline warms up for this new installment in which the event has been internationalized and in which it has captured en masse the attention of creators and distributors, as shown by the significant volume of short films that have been presented ”.

The director of the contest, for her part, has advanced that the organization is already "immersed in the visualization of the 455 short films received to select the 40 works that will compete in the four sections of the contest">.

Awards

Skyline Benidorm Film Festival gives seven awards in the different sections: best European short film, best national fiction short film, best national animation short film, best national documentary short film, best short film in Valencian, best short film on sustainability and best short film made by students. In addition to the financial prizes, other prizes are awarded for production, direction, best photography and the best original soundtrack. In addition, for the third year the script contest will be held, and for the second year, the contest for best Shortpitch, valued at € 12,000 for the shooting of the winning project in the city.

As in previous editions, the contest maintains one of its main hallmarks, payment per screening, so that the 25 works selected within the competitive national section will receive 200 euros.
