Benidorm remembers the woman murdered last Tuesday in Torrejón with a minute of silence
Benidorm has observed a minute of silence this afternoon in memory of the latest victim of sexist violence in Spain. A 48-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her ex-partner last Tuesday, who took her life with at least seven stab wounds in the town of Torrejón de Ardoz, in Madrid. The victim had two children, one of them a minor.
The acting mayor of Benidorm, Ana Pellicer, and the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, have led the silent rally in protest of such a tragic event in which representatives of all the political groups of the corporation, public employees and residents of individual title.
This is the fourth victim of gender violence in our country so far this year. From the Department of Equality, women who are in a situation of danger are reminded that the City Council has specialized personnel to attend to each case and insists on the usefulness of the national number against gender violence, 016, which does not leave trace on the phone bill (although it is recommended to delete it after using the phone's registration), which is available in 53 languages 365 days a year.
