Javier Pereira triumphs with his work 'Suelta', which wins the Audience Award and the Best Production Award
The short ‘Imposible decirte adiós’ wins the award for best fiction short film at the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival
The short film 'Imposible decirte adiós' by Yolanda Centeno won the award for best fiction short film last night, delivered during the closing ceremony of the sect edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, held in the Assembly Hall of the City Council.
The other winner of the day was the actor and director Javier Pereira, whose short film 'Suelta' won the Audience Award and the Best Production Award in a contest to which 260 scripts and shortpitch and 450 short films were submitted.
The sixth edition of Benidorm short film competition, which has been held from April 2 to 9, concluded last night with the awards ceremony at a gala conducted by the actress María Zamora and that filled the municipal Assembly Hall, among whose attendees were Mayor Toni Pérez and members of the local corporation, as well as organizers of the contest, winners and guests to the appointment were present.
The director of the Skyline Film Festival, Beatriz Hernández, highlighted the "great success" of the Festival "which grows every year" and thanked the work "of all the people behind it, which are many, to make it a reality." She also stressed the “dedication” of everyone and the “great quality” of the selected short films”, as well as underlining that the event had two new sections; Ibero-American cinema and social cinema. It has also been a success “the great presence of filmmakers in the colloquiums that have been held”.
María Zamora, presenter and host of the closing ceremony, highlighted the payment-for-selection tool that the event has implemented since its first edition, which makes it one of the few festivals in the country that has this recognition and award for the quality of its the selected works.

All the prizes were awarded at last night's gala, except for 'shortpitch', which took place last Thursday and went to 'Largo viaje' by Manuel Manrique and Héctor Herce. The distinguished list is as follows:
-Best short film of Valencian production: 'Mindanao', by Borja Soler
-Best direction: 'Amianto', by Javier Marco
-Best Ibero-American short film: 'MTI', by Mauricio Corco
-Best production: 'Chaval', by Jaime Olías
-Best Performance: Jone Laspiur, from 'Polvo somos'
-Best screenplay: 'Mapa de la geografía emocional' by Julu Martínez and Candela Megido. In this section, a second prize was given to the script of the short film 'Inside'
-Best realization. PNR Award: 'Suelta', by Javier Pereira. A special mention was also made to the work 'Marinera de Luces', by Pablo Quijano
-Best European short film: ‘The right words’, by Adrian Moyse
-Best animated short film: 'The monkey', by Xose Manuel Zapata and Lorenzo Degl'Innocenti
-Best Documentary Short Film: Figurante, by Nacho Fernández
-Best fiction short film: 'Imposible decirte adiós', by Yolanda Centeno
-Audience Award: 'Suelta', by Javier Pereira
