Thousands of people have celebrated this Palm Sunday the traditional blessing of the palms and olive branches in the church of San Jaime and Santa Ana. A procession of palms around the streets near the church has preceded the Holy Mass. Residents and tourists have toured the old town with their palms, led by the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez, the national deputy Agustín Almodóbar, the parish priest Juan Antonio González and members of the municipal corporation, along with a large representation of children and members of the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, in addition to the queen and infantile ladies of the Festes Majors Patronals.
The festivity, which marks the beginning of Holy Week, has had children as the main protagonists, who, according to tradition, are presented by her godmother with a palm so that they can be blessed. A blessing that the parish priest of the church of San Jaime has done before the procession. After it, a mass was celebrated in a church full of faithful.
