The Department of Education of Benidorm City Council has opened the second turn for students from the city who participate during this 2023-2024 academic year in European mobility programs such as Erasmus +. This was stated by the councillor of the department, Maite Moreno, who indicated that the deadline for this grant is open until December 12 and is aimed at students who are going to enjoy these 'Erasmus grants' in the second year. semester of the course or to those who in the first turn are not yet aware of their status as a beneficiary of this program.

The councillor recalled that this is the second consecutive year in which the City Council grants this aid to Erasmus students, which last year were requested by a total of 15 students, to whom aid was granted for a total amount of 9,300 euros. Likewise, she explained that “with this aid, we want to collaborate with university students and students of Higher Level Training Cycles in Benidorm who, within their training, adhere to this type of programs to carry out part of their training in other countries; an option that also allows them to live the experience of residing outside of Spain and complement their curricular activity with the learning or improvement of another language.”

This is an aid of 100 euros for each month of stay abroad with a maximum period of 9 months, which is the duration of a complete academic year. Likewise, Maite Moreno has stressed that "this municipal aid is fully compatible with others that the student may receive from any public administration or private entity to facilitate their stay during the program." In short, “it is about contributing our grain of sand so that Benidorm students have more facilities and economic resources during the months they spend studying abroad”, as indicated by the mayor of Education.

The bases that regulate the granting of these aid establish that the payment to the beneficiaries will be single and annual, once the stay at the destination university for the indicated period has been verified. To be eligible for them, it is a requirement that applicants be registered in Benidorm for an uninterrupted period of one year and prove that they have been selected to participate in an international mobility program in the 2023/2024 academic year.
