The Royal House confirms that Her Majesty Queen Letizia will preside over the International Day of Deafblind People in Benidorm on Wednesday
The Royal House has confirmed that Her Majesty Queen Doña Letizia will preside over the event to celebrate the International Day of Deafblind Persons, organized by the Federation of Deafblind Associations of Spain (FASOCIDE) on Wednesday, June 27 in Benidorm. The ceremony will take place in the Plaza SSMM Kings of Spain from 11.00 and will close the V WFDB Annual Meeting and the XI Helen Keller World Conference, which since last Tuesday are being held at the Hotel Bali in Benidorm with the attendance of representatives of 51 countries.
As pointed out by the House of His Majesty the King, the celebration of the International Day of Deafblind People is established internationally in commemoration of the birth of Helen Keller, the first deafblind person to demonstrate the capacity of deafblind people, surpassing the barriers that this group finds. Keller graduated from the University and was the author of several essays, political activist and speaker.
