This afternoon, Rotary Club of Benidorm presented 'Isidro Cortina' award to the student Iñaki Cupini Yepes, an award worth 3,000 euros that recognizes the best Baccalaureate student in the Marina Baixa. The young man has reached an average grade of 11.775.

Cupini has been the winner of the 12th edition of the annual award organized by the Rotary Club of Benidorm and has achieved it the year in which his educational centre celebrates its 25th anniversary. The grade achieved by the student is obtained from the average Baccalaureate grade and the Selectivity test grade in the general phase, plus those obtained from the subjects passed in the voluntary phase.

The delivery took place today in a well-known restaurant in the city, attended by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, who was accompanied by Juan Ángel Ferrer, president of Rotary Club of Benidorm, as well as prominent members of the entity.

The 'Isidro Cortina' award aims to “contribute to the encouragement of university preparation for young students in the region,” explained Ferrer, who evoked the figure of Cortina and highlighted the objective of “recognizing the effort to have a better future. Today we are here to create hope for the future.” Ferrer told Iñaki Cupini that “you are an example for many young people” and predicted that “you will be a great mathematician”, a course that he is pursuing in Alicante. “You will achieve success through effort, discipline and humility,” he stated.

After reading the minutes by the secretary, Fernando Amor, the award was presented to Cupini, who in his speech assured that he was “very excited” and that this type of recognition is achieved “with discipline, perseverance and effort". The winner has valued the objectives of Rotary Club and other initiatives underway and has had time to thank his IES teachers, as well as his family “because without them this would not be possible.”

The Councilor for Education, for her part, has also highlighted the values of the award-winning student, has wished him a great future and has also highlighted the work of the Rotary Club. She has said that the award represents “the connection and involvement of Rotary Club with education in the region and bears the name of someone who was a great president.”
