Details of the remodeling project of Avenida del Mediterráneo
The project for Avenida del Mediterráneo and surrounding streets contemplated the renovation of all the hydraulic infrastructures in the area, key in the supply and purification network of Benidorm, and the adoption of measures to prevent rainwater from reaching the Levante beach, for which the construction of an anti-pollution tank was included.
Once the hydraulic network was solved and updated, it was decided to turn this avenue into a "living" space, in which the pedestrian was the protagonist. To this end, in addition to reducing traffic lanes from 4 to 1 and limiting speed to 10 kilometers per hour, large sidewalks were created and innovative technological solutions such as the 'techno stop' or the 'technohito' were implemented.
