The registration period for the Experience University 2019 / 2020 opens on September 30
The Department of Social Welfare will open on Monday, September 30, the registration period for the Classrooms of Experience (AUNEX) 2019/2020, project included in the Comprehensive Program for Seniors of Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), which is aimed at people over 55 years and taught by university teachers.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, has stressed that this project "is now 20 years in which its objective has been to meet the educational demand and enhance the culture and quality of life of people over 55 years." The duration is two years and at the end of the studies students receive a diploma from Miguel Hernández University.
The only requirement to access the AUNEX is to exceed that age and no previous studies are required. The capacity is 60 seats and classes will be held at José Llorca Linares social center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Classes will begin on October 22 and will continue until May 28, 2020. During the 2019/2020 academic year students will study subjects such as Music, Global Economy, Population Sociology, Physiology, Public Policy Analysis, Universal Literature II, Computer Resources and Health, as well as six three-hour seminars on current issues. In addition, cultural activities such as excursions and visits to museums or exhibitions will take place.
The price of the full course is 110 euros -100 euros of tuition and 10 insurance-, and there are 50% discounts and 100% scholarships thanks to the collaboration of Obra Social La Caixa. Registration will take place from September 24 to October 4, or until the total of 60 places available is covered.
The days when registration can be formalized are September 30 and October 2, 7 and 15 at La Torreta Social Center from 12:00 to 14:00 hours; or on Tuesday, October 1, 8 and 15 at José Llorca Linares Social Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The information and applications are available in the social centers and the Department of Social Welfare, located in Pintor Lozano Street, and it will be necessary to submit the application form and the DNI.
