The educational complex will have new parking spaces for 800 vehicles

Movilidad redacta un proyecto para acabar con los atascos enel Salt de l’Aigua

The improvement proposals sent by the education centers will be incorporated

Mobility Week dedicates today's day to the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS). At 9:00, in the municipal building of El Torrejó, a meeting of the Mobility Council took place where the new initiative for the rationalization and organization of traffic in the educational complex of Salt de l’Aigua has been discussed. A project that is practically finished by the municipal technical services.

The Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, recalled that the project affects “more than 5,000 young people and children in Benidorm” who come every day to the educational centers of Salt de l’Aigua. With the new proposal, the City Council is committed to "road safety" in school itineraries, a "very important" proposal that "will remain operational throughout the rest of the year."

Prior to the presentation before the Mobility Council, the study has been presented to the Local Police and to the directors of the centers of the complex “so that they indicate to us - points González de Zárate - the ideas that they consider appropriate that can be positive for everyone” .

The two axes on which the project is based are “road safety and public transport”, so that buses “arrive and depart as quickly as possible”. As a complement, a new park-and-ride parking space with capacity for 800 vehicles will be built that will “relieve traffic” and that “will also” serve in summer, when the classrooms are closed, to tourists who enjoy their holidays in Benidorm.

After the meeting, also in El Torrejó, the external technician of the Mobility Council, transport expert, Manuel Ríos, together with the director of the PMUS of Benidorm, Jesús Alba, have given the conference “Benidorm, present and future”, to the that, in addition to the members of the Council, interested persons have been able to attend the conference.
