The Night of San Juan was lived last Sunday with intensity and without incident on the beaches of Benidorm, which early Monday were in perfect condition to receive the early bird bathers. This Tuesday, the councilor of Beaches, Mónica Gómez; technicians of this department; and responsible for the Local Police and the concessionary company, RA Benidorm, have held a meeting to evaluate how the cleaning and security device designed specifically for the most magical night of the year worked.
Gómez said that "the balance has been positive, and although we are very satisfied with how this device has responded and worked, some aspects can always be improved, and in that we will work towards the coming years".
The person in charge of Playas has remembered that "only during the afternoon, night and dawn from Sunday to Monday they worked in the special device for the cleaning and maintenance of the sand a total of 30 people", distributed in different shifts and tasks that began to 8:00 p.m. Until 02.00, the cleaning teams focused on waste collection and distribution of bags and ashtrays on the beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas. As of 03:00 hours, two teams were working on the three beaches along with four tractors with screening and another with a tub-type trailer, affecting the busiest areas.
In this way, in the early morning these three beaches were in perfect condition for use and enjoyment.
In addition to the cleaning device, during the Night of San Juan there was also a police reinforcement of 20 officers, to which three ambulances were added; a surveillance and rescue boat with skipper and lifeguard; a rescue coordinator; a beach chief; three nurses and three technical drivers in health emergencies; 10 lifeguards, one of them at the point of accessible beaches of Elche Park.
