The plenary session approves the municipal organization proposals for the next four years
The new municipal corporation of Benidorm has held today its first plenary session of the legislature, an extraordinary session in which the organization and functioning of the City Council for the next four years has been established as well as all the proposals proposed by the team of government.
Unanimously, the corporation has agreed on the periodicity of the plenary sessions, whose ordinary sessions will be held on the last Monday of each month, preferably at 09:00. In case of a holiday, they will be celebrated on the next business day. The months of August and December, where appropriate, will be decided by the Board of Spokespersons. Likewise, the change of the date of holding the ordinary plenary session, always at a later date than that foreseen, will be decided upon prior agreement of the Board of Spokesmen.
The creation and composition of the permanent informative commissions that will hold their ordinary sessions on Monday of each week have also been approved unanimously, without prejudice to the extraordinary ones and the sessions of the special commissions. Thus, the Special Accounts Commission, the Finance Commission, the Urban Planning Commission, the Socio-Cultural and Tourism Area Commission and the Internal Regime Commission have been constituted. These commissions will be integrated by the 25 councilors and councilors of the corporation: 13 of the municipal group of the Popular Party, 10 of the socialist group and 2 of the group Ciudadanos (Cs).
The plenary also unanimously endorsed the appointments of the representatives of the corporation in collegiate bodies proposed by the government team. Thus, it has been agreed that the Water and Sanitation Consortium of La Marina Baixa be represented by the councillor Aida García (titular) and by Ana Pellicer (deputy); the Consortium for the Execution of the Predictions of the Zonal Waste Plan 6, Management area A1 will be represented by José Ramón González de Zárate (titular) and Ana Pellicer (deputy); the Consortium of the Regional Park of Fire Extinguishing Service of La Marina Baixa by Lorenzo Martínez (titular) and Ana Pellicer (deputy); the Institut D'Ecología Litoral by Mónica Gómez; the Committee of the Red Cross of Benidorm by Ángela Llorca; the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Serra Gelada Natural Park by Mónica Gómez; and the Municipal School Council by María Teresa Moreno.
In the same session, the composition of the political groups with representation in the City Council, as well as the designation of spokespersons and substitutes of the same that remain as follows:

Remuneration and compensation to councilors and temporary staff
With the votes in favor of the PP and PSOE, and the abstention of Cs, they have approved the compensation and compensation to be received by the members of the municipal corporation. Thus, the Mayor's Office, for its special dedication and responsibility, will have recognized the legal regime of exclusive dedication, receiving as compensation the one established in the laws of annual State Budgets -for a city with the volume of inhabitants of Benidorm- with a 5% reduction. The councilors of the full-time government team (12) will receive the remuneration set for the mayor with a reduction of 30%; while the reduction will be 55% for the councilors of the opposition with exclusivity (2 of the PSOE and 1 of Cs).
The rest of councilors will receive 275 euros for attendance at plenary sessions and 110 euros for informative commissions. The spokespersons of the political groups will receive 187.11 euros and 140.33 euros the adjunct spokespersons of the groups with 4 or more members. Both the Spokesperson's Boards, the Governing Board and attendance at meetings of Boards, Councils, Trials and other municipal collegiate bodies will not be remunerated.
With the votes in favor of the PP and PSOE, and the abstention of Cs, has also prospered the appointment of a total of 12 jobs of casual staff, as well as their salaries.
In the session has also been given the resolutions of the Mayor's Office regarding the appointments of the members of the Local Government Board, the possessions of the Mayor's Office, of the delegations conferred by the Mayor's Office to the councilors and the Local Government Board, as well as the system of sessions of this body.
