"
The First Vice-President of the Council stressed that the Participatory Budget for 2017 "exceeded in all respects the previous year's", both in "resulting proposals" - from 39 to 53 - and in the economic amount destined to meet the demands of The neighbors, that passes "from 90,000 to 235,000 euros."
Montes recalled that on 12 December the Neighborhood Council transferred to the City Council, after an objective prioritization and taking into account the criterion of distributive justice, the four proposals most voted in the Assembly by the citizens for their technical and economic study. Proposals that all coincide with "the theme of Urban Scene, Accessibility and Mobility" and have already been informed.
After the technical analysis, which has been rejected a proposal, the Neighborhood Council has moved the final document with three actions: the implementation of accessible sidewalks in different parts of the neighborhood of Els Tolls, the adequacy of the traffic lights of the Comunidad Valenciana avenue At the intersection with Belgium and Europe for deaf-blind users, and the opening of a pedestrian access between the street Italia and the Palau d'Esports l'Illa to save the current ravine. Montes pointed out that "this last proposal is of significant importance because it gives all users of the Palau and the water jump school complex a pedestrian crossing to save this distance without coexisting with vehicles."
Lizancos, for its part, has detailed that the three proposals "are a city strategy", as they "are immersed in the Strategy for Sustainable Urban Development (EDUSI)" with which the City Council chooses European funds, which are Approved at the end of November, which had a great impact on accessibility and also on linking the school and sports areas of Foietes and Els Tolls through safe school itineraries. The counselor has clarified that the three proposals submitted "will exceed the amount allocated to the Participatory Budget," although the same "have been assumed by the government team and there will be all interest in being executed."
