The City Council has four parking lots nearby to facilitate access for participants
Nearly 3,200 people will gather next Sunday, March 31, at the traditional 'La Mona' event organized by the Associació de Penyes Verge del Sofratge which will take place in Parque de la Séquia Mare. After the success of the last two years, the Penyes Association, chaired by Jaume Cortés, repeats its location in this green area integrated into the urban fabric, with easy pedestrian access and in whose vicinity, in addition, the City Council has several park-and-ride parking lots. to provide service to those who have to travel with a private vehicle.
The Councilor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros, has stressed "the suitability of this venue due to its proximity and because it allows 'La Mona' to be experienced in a country environment as tradition dictates." Likewise, he has stated that, as happened in the last edition, the construction work of the future youth hostel in the Parque de la Séquia Mare "will not interfere with the celebration of 'La Mona', since the perimeter of the work will be completely bounded and fenced.”
Regarding parking, the mayor has reported that in front of the Parque de la Séquia Mare, on Avenida de la Comunidad Valenciana, there is a deterrent parking lot with a capacity for about a hundred vehicles. Also on Italia Street, another parking lot, with about 300 spaces, connected to the park through Els Tolls pedestrian walkway and European Community Avenue. In addition, Palau d'Esports car park is also available, located a very short distance from this park and with large capacity, while, on the occasion of the celebration of 'La Mona', a fourth deterrent car park will also be enabled next to the nightclubs.
Mariló Cebreros has reported that vehicle access to the site for loading and unloading tasks will be allowed between 8 and 10 in the morning on Sunday, having to leave it before that time. Subsequently, the entrance will be re-enabled from 7:00 p.m. to collect tents or belongings from supporters' clubs, and at the same time, it will not be permitted to light fires.
The Penyes Association has planned to distribute chocolate and monkeys among the supporters of the 175 clubs that are going to participate in 'La Mona'. In addition, there will be bouncy castles for minors, parades with brass bands, snacks and bingo.
