Benidorm continues to work with the intention of increasingly diversifying the tourist offer of the city and attracting new profiles of tourists, especially during the low season. For this reason it has participated during this weekend in a fair focused on sports tourism and mainly, cycling and hiking, which has taken place in the Belgian city of Ghent.
Wandelbeurs Fair, is an event specialized in cycling and hiking that each year attracts about 20,000 visitors and about 500 exhibitors and in it, Benidorm has had its own counter located in the area of Turespaña and under the umbrella of the brand Valencian Community.
Visit Benidorm has come to this fair with the aim of positioning Benidorm in the mind of the Belgian cycling and hiking tourist, carrying out a great coverage of the destination and its offer for lovers of outdoor sports. Events such as the Costa Blanca Bike Race or the stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a España 2016, together with the fact that Benidorm has 50km of bike lanes, reinforce this message, and also allow for the communication of all that Benidorm offers to active tourists.
Finally and in the same way as in previous cycling events, the official channels of @VisitBenidorm of Wikiloc and Strava have been re-promoted, where 10 new hiking and Nordic walking routes were added last year to the Wikiloc App. It should be noted that last year, some months, more than 60,000 visitors interacted on VisitBenidorm channel on wikiloc.
