The mayor shows the condolences of the corporation for the death of Roc Gregori
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, on behalf of the corporation, has conveyed his condolences to the relatives and close friends of Roc Gregori, former head of the Municipal Tourism Service of Benidorm and former regional secretary of Tourism who died yesterday. The mayor has praised the professional career of Roc Gregori, whom he has described as "an authority" in tourism matters after "more than four decades of public service in this field".
Pérez remarked that Gregori was "a fundamental figure for tourism and for the tourist awareness not only of Benidorm, but of the Valencian Community". Thus, he was the promoter of the Agència Valenciana de Turisme and of "macro policies" at an autonomous level, and under his direction the Valencian Community "began to work on tourism in a much more serious way".
The mayor added that on both a personal and professional level "we will miss a voice as authoritative as he was and we liked to listen so much". Not in vain, at the time of his death, Roc Gregori was a patron of the Visit Benidorm Foundation at the proposal of the City Council.
Benidorm City Council, where he was an official for decades, recognized Roc Gregori with the Special Mention in the Tourism Award 'Ciudad de Benidorm' for his "long and successful professional career in tourism management in Benidorm and the Valencian Community".
