The City Council and the consultant which conducted the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS), recently approved, are already working on the seven action plans that the document proposes to improve mobility in the city. According to the councillor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, among these action plans highlights the "Parking Plan" which, among other measures, proposes "to expand the resident card of the blue zone to the entire city." Zárate specified that this will benefit residents where parking is regulated. The councilman pointed out that this measure would mean a "quantum leap" since currently only have this option residents of some concrete streets. The head of Mobility indicated that this extension will allow "all residents in Benidorm, in all blue areas, to have a discount" for parking in regulated places. Zárate indicated that it is expected that the parking plan is "fully defined" in late September, and clarified that "we are assessing what discount is applied and how to make the card". The councillor stated that this measure will involve changing the ordinance and the corresponding tax ordinance.
