The mayor presents the AMT Destination Award for 'Sustainability' to a project for the control and verification of gas emissions
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with his counterpart from Arona, Fátima Lemes, presented this Thursday the AMT Smart Destination Awards in the 'Sustainability' category to the innovative project that offers a digital platform for measurement, notification and direct verification of greenhouse gas emissions, to implement more effective financing and insurance of ESG investment and energy transition.
The WeavAir project has been one of the proposals recognized during the Madrid International Tourism Fair (Fitur) with the awards presented each year by the Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities (AMT) in collaboration with the Hotel Technology Institute (ITH). to recognize the best innovative ideas linked to tourism intelligence.
In addition to the 'Sustainability' category, three other awards have also been awarded in the segments of 'Promotion and Marketing', 'Interaction with tourists and citizens' and 'Comprehensive destination management'.
The Secretary of State for Tourism, Ana Morillo, closed the awards ceremony, after which she shared a relaxed meeting with Toni Pérez and the rest of the mayors and tourism representatives of the municipalities that make up the AMT: Adeje, Arona, Calviá, Lloret de Mar, Salou, San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Torremolinos.
