The mayor clarifies that Benidorm is waiting for the draft of the new health center in Rincón de Loix
Benidorm has given the plot and now it needs that Conselleria defines how the building will be to fit it in the plot
The documentation was sent weeks ago to Valencia and was also delivered to the County Health Council
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has clarified today that the City Council has so far complied with "all the procedures" that are within its competence to advance in the construction of the new health center of Rincón de Loix; and stressed that, contrary to what it was said yesterday in Villajoyosa by the Health Minister, Carmen Montón, the local administration "has given the soil" for this sanitary infrastructure.
Pérez explained that the City Council is waiting for Conselleria "to transfer the characteristics of the health center that it wants to be built in Benidorm" so that "we write the detail study necessary to fit that facility in the plot that we have ceded" . A study of detail that Benidorm has been offered to draft, and that can be processed in municipal headquarters unlike other Town Halls.
That offer about the detailed study was sent in writing to Valencia on April 28, together with the fourth technical report confirming that the ceded plot is fit to house a health center. Likewise, on May 3, a copy of all this documentation was delivered to the County Health Council, and on May 8, all the groups of the corporation were transferred it in an information commission.
The mayor stressed that "we are working loyally with the Conselleria," and stressed that "as we did with the license change of the works of the IES Pere Mª Orts i Bosch, our technicians are now prioritizing all the technical documentation necessary for the construction of the health center by the Generalitat ".
Pérez has lamented that by mistake or omission, the minister, Carmen Montón has transferred inaccurate information about where are the procedures for the new health center, and the role and steps taken by the City Hall in this matter. In this regard, he has reported that "this morning" has tried unsuccessfully to contact with Montón "to get her out of error." He has contacted the health manager and the unions.
"The mayor of Benidorm would have liked that if the minister was going to visit a hospital that is local, her visit had been announced or we had been invited, and more if she was going to talk about the health center in the Rincon de Loix," he added.
Municipal investment for arrangements in the current health center
The mayor has indicated that The City Council is also waiting for the Conselleria to inform about the most urgent needs presented by the current health center of Rincón de Loix, and that can be assumed with the 45,000 euros that have been included in the Municipal budget of 2017. In fact, the municipal technicians and the councilman of Health, Ana Pellicer, visited the facilities last Friday, May 12, with sanitary officials to know the damages that presents the building. Pérez has insisted that this municipal investment of 45,000 euros results in Benidorm's commitment to health by assuming even works that do not belong to it, since the maintenance of health centers is the exclusive task of the Conselleria and is not a municipal matter.
