After having a meeting with businessmen and unions, the monarchs have travelled a section of Levante Promenade surrounded by hundreds of people
Massive and affectionate reception Benidorm to the King and the Queen of Spain
"Massive, respectful and loving." This is how the mayor, Toni Pérez, has defined the reception that Benidorm has given this Friday to the monarchs of Spain, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, on their visit to the city on their institutional tour to promote and support Tourism. Hundreds of people have received and cheered the monarchs during their journey of just over 250 meters along Levante promenade, along which they have made three stops to greet the workers on the beaches of Benidorm and citizens who have seen their visit from the beach, and also to try an artisan ice cream.
In the second of these stops, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have been received, among others, by the mayor; the Minister of Science and Education, Pedro Duque; the president of the Regional Government, Ximo Puig; the Government delegate, Gloria Calero; the Minister of Justice, Gabriela Bravo; and the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, Carlos Mazón.
Previously, the monarchs have held a meeting with representatives of the Valencian Business Confederation and union organizations at Belroy Hotel.
The mayor has pointed out that “if Benidorm is always hospitable; with the visit of Their Majesties, it has been even more so ”. A city, he stated, that "he has gone out onto the street and especially to the beach with love and respect" and showing their "best image" to Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, of whom he stressed that "they deeply know Tourism and the difficulties and uncertainties that we are going through ”.
Toni Pérez stressed that Their Majesties "are also a great reference for the Spain brand, its best ambassadors"; and, consequently, "their presence in the city makes this a historic day and one of great happiness"
