Margen Restobar gets the first prize of the II Brochette Contest in Benidorm

The last meeting of Benidorm Gastronomico will be the VI Conference of the Rice of the Earth, from 21 to 29 October
The gastronomic proposal 'Parrillada para todos' by Margen Restobar has been awarded the first prize of the second edition of the contest of the Brochette in Benidorm, penultimate piece of Benidorm Gastronomico 2017. The finalists to the special award of the public have been the establishments La Tapería Aurrerá and Talo Tako with their creations 'Chupachup Cochinillo' and 'Pulpo al carbón y gratén de queso Simón d'Costa', respectively
The decision, chosen by direct popular vote among the customers of the 15 participating establishments, or through the application for mobile devices Gastroeventos, was made public this morning at a ceremony attended by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, in the company of the manager of Abreca-Cobreca, María Amor together with a representation of the members of the municipal corporation, professionals of local restaurants and the sponsors of Benidorm Gastronómico 2017, Pedro Cintas and Juan Brotons.
Toni Pérez has emphasized "the power" of the gastronomic offer of Benidorm that in this occasion has been confirmed with a "good participation of restaurants and good participation of public". A Brochette Contest that serves as an anteroom for the upcoming Rice Week, "the culmination of Benidorm Gastronómico 2017".
The mayor has highlighted the "involvement" of the restorers "and all those who make it possible day after day that tourism in our city is at the first level. "The gastronomy," stressed Toni Pérez, "is increasingly a fundamental complement" of the tourist offer and every day "more people are coming to an animated destination" for a good culinary offer. In this, Abreca and Benidorm restaurants "are setting the pattern, the hand of the City Council and the Department of Tourism," said the mayor.
During the event there was also a raffle among the participating clients with the brochure, a dinner for two, a prize that has fallen on Helena Benito. On the other hand, the application Gastroeventos has drawn among its users another dinner that has been for Ramón Giménez and a stay of two nights in a hotel in Spain or Europe, which has won Carlos García de Juan.
The last meeting of Benidorm Gastronómico 2017 will be the VI Days of the Rice, to be held between 21 and 29 October.
