Despite the virulence of the gusts, which reached 97 kilometers per hour, no significant damage has been recorded
Local Police, technical services and contractors carry out various interventions related to the wind
The Local Police of Benidorm, the technical services of the City Council and the municipal contracts have carried out various interventions during the past morning and throughout this morning related to the strong gusts of wind, which in some moments have reached 97 kilometers per hour.
According to the data obtained at the station of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the peak of speed occurred at 06:00 with those 97 kilometers, the highest record in the Valencian Community.
Despite the virulence of the wind, no personal damage has occurred and the materials have not registered seriousness. Thus, the interventions carried out by the Local Police, a dozen, have been mainly due to the fall of signs, posters or other elements to the road or sidewalks. The municipal technical services and the various contractors have also dealt with interventions along the same lines, having detected the fall of about twenty trees and damage to various canopies and 'muppis'; while around a hundred containers have been blown away by the wind.
The forecast of the AEMET is that the yellow risk due to winds on the southern coast of the province of Alicante, where Benidorm is located, will be deactivated at 4:00 p.m.
