From March 15 to 19, Benidorm will experience the big days of the Josephine festivities

La Crida opens the Fallas 2024 programming this Saturday

29 February 2024
La Crida abre este sábado la programación de las Fallas 2024

This Saturday, March 2, La Crida opens the Fallas 2024 programming. This event, which traditionally announces the upcoming arrival of the Josephine festivities, will bring together the city's three Fallas commissions starting at 7:00 p.m. on Gambo Street. (Falla Benidorm Centro, Falla Rincón de Loix and Falla Els Tolls), thus beginning the celebrations, which will experience their big days from March 15 to 19.

The Councilor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros, and the president of the Central Fallera Board, Esther García, have presented today the program of events for the Fallas, which this weekend, in addition to the Crida, includes on Sunday the celebration of the contest of paellas at l'Espai Fest.

During the following days, the three commissions will focus on preparing the festivities, while the Fallas artists put the finishing touches on the monuments that will arrive in Benidorm on March 15, the day of the traditional 'plantà'. The next day the awards for the best monuments will be announced; while on Monday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m., the offering of flowers in honour of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge will take place in the Plaza de Castelar.

As usual on March 19, Saint Joseph's Day, each commission will fire their 'mascletà', and in the afternoon the float parade will take place, which will depart at 6:30 p.m. from Marqués de Comillas Street. At night, the 'cremà' of the Fallas monuments will close four days of celebrations.

Cebreros has invited “residents and visitors to join us during those days” to “live with intensity this 100% Valencian festival with great roots in Benidorm for decades.”
