The Jury of the Exemplary Neighbor agrees to recognize this year Dr. Eusebi Chiner

The distinction will be delivered this Thursday at 11.00 in the Plenary Hall

Benidorm will recognize this Thursday as Exemplary Neighbor 2017 to Dr. Eusebi Chiner, head of the Service of Pulmonology of San Juan Hospital. This was decided unanimously by the jury of this award, and this was made public today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, in a press conference in which he was accompanied by the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Mª Jesus Pinto; and by the first and second vice-presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Fernando Montes and Cristian Corraini.

The mayor has applauded the "initiative" of the Neighborhood Council and "the success" of the jury in electing Eusebi Chiner with this award, which recognizes "publicly those neighbors or neighbors in whose person concur personal values, civic, and ethical outstanding and remarkable that can serve as reference to citizens.

Thus, it has "a highly accredited, broad and meritorious professional career in the field of medicine", in which "has also received numerous awards," the latter the 'Best in Class' prestige, a prize for clinical management and quality which he received with his team.

In addition, the Exemplary Neighbor 2017 is "a man of the Renaissance who has collaborated in multiple cultural manifestations", most recently the coral commissioner of the exhibition 'The legacy of our sailors. Benidorm and the Merchant Marine "that is currently exhibited in the Boca del Calvari Museum. The mayor added that this exhibition is only a sample of the "very large number of actions" developed by Chiner "linked to the realm of culture, traditions, customs and life of Benidorm in the past and present."

The first vice-president of the Neighborhood Council has added to these merits the collaboration of Chiner "in solitary projects in Nicaragua, Zambia and Ethiopia, all linked to his medical specialty."

The jury of this edition has been presided over by Exemplary Neighbor 2012, Antonio Gonzaga, while Professor Rafael Alemany has acted as secretary. The other components were: María José Martín González, treasurer of the local AMPAS group, Antonia Baldó, member of the mixed commission of the Participatory Budget 2018; José Miguel Mollá, director of the José Pérez Barceló Conservatory of Music; and Rafael Gares, retired from the banking sector.

The award ceremony will be held this Thursday, October 26, at 11:00 am in the Plenary Hall of the City Hall.
