Improvements in access to schools in Benidorm

10 September 2019
Mejoras en los accesos a los centros escolares de Benidorm

Benidorm City Council is repainting the road markings in the accesses to the school zones of the city. With this initiative, the departments of Urban Space and Education coordinated by José Ramón González de Zárate and Maite Moreno, strengthen the itineraries that thousands of students who study in Benidorm follow every day.

The head of Education has indicated that the paint works have already been carried out on roads near the centers of La Cala and El Murtal; in the streets Nicaragua and Ricardo Bayona, next to Miguel Hernández; and in the educational complex of Salt de l’Aigua, where, in addition, due to the remodeling work now underway, “the area will be completely repainted”.

Maite Moreno, has apologized to users because some of the work in progress must have been paralyzed "for reasons beyond the control of the City Council, due to the threat of rain that is expected to arrive today." Humidity discourages paint on vials because it prevents proper primer of the floor. "As soon as the weather permits," she clarified, "the tasks will be completed." In this situation is the access to CEIP Ausiàs March.

Maite Moreno and municipal technicians have met today with the direction of the School of Languages, also located in Salt de l’Aigua, to inform them of the creation of a new pedestrian access accessible to the center that will serve the facilities. The councillor has specified that, when the remodeling of the educational complex progresses, meetings will be scheduled with the addresses of all the centers to expose the progress made and how these "will improve accessibility and safety for pedestrians, drivers and public transport."
