The IES l'Almadrava celebrates the Day of Mother Tongues with workshops and recreational, cultural and charitable activities
The center, in which there are students of 35 nationalities, assigns Aspanion the benefits of its gastronomic sample
The Institute of Secondary Education (IES) l'Almadrava de Benidorm has celebrated this Friday the Day of Mother Tongues, which is celebrated on 21 February, with workshops and recreational and cultural activities, involving teachers and students and the Councilor for Children, Ángela Llorca.
This course is the third consecutive year in which the IES l'Almadrava, in which students of up to 35 different nationalities study, commemorates the Mother Language Day with the aim of bringing together and disseminating the different languages and cultures that coexist in the center.
The mayor of Childhood has congratulated teachers and students for this initiative, and stressed "the cultural enrichment" that supposes for the educational community the fact of having such a wide plurality of languages and nationalities.
The activities started shortly before 10:00 am traditional music, 'xirimita i tabalet' and with some of the students dressed in the typical costumes of their countries of origin. Shortly afterwards the activities began with a round of performances by teachers and students with dances, songs, recitals of poetry, theater performances, as well as henna painting workshops, table games, cricket, crepes and Latin dances.
In addition, a team of 'jugger' has made an exhibition, while the students of 2nd year of Bachillerato have made a 'flashmob' to which have joined students of other courses.
The day has closed with a gastronomic show with typical dishes from different countries contributed by the families of the students. A sample that also has solidarity, since the profits obtained with the sale of tickets will be delivered to Aspanion, the association of relatives of children with cancer.
