Sanidad forma a distintos colectivos de Benidorm sobre cómo actuar ante un atragantamiento

 Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Health, is collaborating throughout the day this Monday with the Tomás Ortuño Health Center to carry out a campaign called #QueNadieSeAtraganteEnBenidorm, which aims to train different groups of the city on how to act in the event of choking, coinciding with the celebration of International Nursing Day, which is celebrated worldwide on May 12.

The councillor of Health, Ana Pellicer, has participated in one of the workshops that have been carried out for women who are part of the Self-Help Group for Women with Breast and Gynecological Cancer of Benidorm and the region, Anémona Marina Baixa, at The councilors of Social Welfare and Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, and of Employment and Beaches, Mónica Gómez, have also attended.

In addition to this group, the Nursing team at the Tomás Ortuño Health Center has also given the workshop to professionals from the Benidorm Fire Station, agents from the Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard and members of the National Police Corps and the Benidorm Local Police. The workshops will conclude with a visit to the Leonor Canalejas public school, where students and teaching staff will also be trained in this subject.

Ana Pellicer thanked these professionals from Tomás Ortuño Health Center for this initiative, and said that “having basic notions about how to act in an emergency of this type can be crucial to saving a person's life.” Likewise, the mayor has pointed out that the health workers at this health centre "have shown themselves open to continuing to take these workshops to other groups or educational centres in our city, both in the case of choking and for other types of techniques or first aid." "sanitary aid."

Along with this initiative, the Health Department of the Marina Baixa, through other health centres in the city, has developed other activities aimed at the general population in recent days to commemorate Nursing Day.

Among them, are workshops on first aid, healthy lifestyle habits, nutrition, care and postural hygiene, as well as a healthy walk from the La Cala Health Center.
