The government takes to the plenary session the final approval of the agreement to develop the Partial Plan 2/1 Poniente

Benidorm government team will raise to the next plenary the definitive approval of the urban agreement between the City Council and the urbanizing agent of the Partial Plan 2/1 Poniente for the development of this sector, which will complete the link of the avenues Armada Española and Vicente Pérez Devesa. The councilor for Urban Development, Lourdes Caselles, explained that the agreement, initially approved last December, "has not received any allegation during the period of public exposure." Hence, the document is ready to be approved definitively in plenary session, once the proposal is announced this coming Monday, February 18, in the Urban Planning Information Commission.

Caselles recalled that 61.50% of the 131,000 square meters that make up the Partial Plan 2/1 Poniente will be converted into car parks, roads, green areas and public facilities; and has influenced that the development of this sector is "capital for the whole of the city, but fundamentally for the urban layout of Poniente". The sector also has 19,024 square meters for green areas; and 24,928 for public facilities.

The mayor has pointed out that once the plenary process has been completed and the agreement signed, the development agent must "present the reparcelling and urbanization project". To these, will be added "a third project in which the proposals assumed by the urbanizing agent are collected" and that will serve "to improve the pedestrian, cyclist and vehicular mobility" and to "supply the parking needs" in the first line of West.

Specifically, it is planned "the construction of a parking lot of 10,000 square meters with capacity for 453 vehicles, to which will be added the more than 230 parking spaces divided by the three new connection roads that will be opened between the Spanish Armada avenues and Vicente Pérez Devesa ". Some roads integrated in this Partial Plan and in the West Action Unit that the same construction company is already developing next.

Another of the improvements proposed by the developer, is the execution of a roundabout on Villajoyosa Avenue at the height of the Red Cross post, which will link through a new road with Vicente Pérez Devesa Avenue and that is "fundamental for the connectivity of the sector and also of the entire Poniente area ".

Apart from the parking lot and the roundabout, the plan also contemplates connecting this sector with the two adjoining areas that are already urbanized or in the process of urbanization: -unity of execution Poniente and the Partial Plan El Murtal II-; the rehabilitation of the promenade in the stretch that may be affected by the work; and the construction of a viewpoint and an elevator-landscape that connects Armada Española Avenue with the highest part of the parking lot.
