Presidency announces that it will be sent to the Agència de Seguretat
Generalitat discards to cede to Benidorm the use of the old courts on Beniardá Avenue
Benidorm City Council will not be able to dispose of the premises that housed the old courts on Beniardá Avenue for municipal services. Presidency of the Generalitat Valenciana has announced that it reserves the use of these spaces, mostly closed for more than a decade, due to the implementation of the Palace of Justice.
The Generalitat has thus responded to the request made, twice, by the City Council after two separate plenary agreements: one at the beginning of 2016, at the proposal of the Compromís-Los Verdes group, and another on September 25 and fully Councilor for Heritage, Lourdes Caselles.
In a letter, the General Administrative Secretariat of Contracting Services and General Affairs tells the City Council "the impossibility of meeting this request" since these premises are going to be used for uses related to emergencies competition of the Agència Valenciana de Seguretat i Resposta a les Emergències ".
Caselles has indicated that "when the Ministry of Finance told us in September that these premises had become dependent on the Presidency, we raised before it, the possibility of using the parts of the property that it would not occupy, but this option has not contemplated, since they assure that they will use all the facilities ".
However, he said, "it is fair to acknowledge that from the conversations we have had with Valencia it follows that among the uses provided by the Generalitat is the cession of a space for the local Red Cross assembly, coinciding with the idea we had from the City Hall. "
Specifically, the municipal approach was for the Red Cross and other local NGOs to settle in these premises, "so if that goal is achieved, we will consider the work done by the City Council to be good, regardless of who makes the assignment and is in charge of the management. of the totality of the facilities ".
