L'Espardenya club obtains the first prize and the special prize for the best handmade float goes to La Cordá club
The Fireworks Castle and the Float Parade put an end to 2019 Major Festivities
Major Patron Saint Festivities 2019 put the final touch yesterday with a colorful parade of floats, in which cultural and festive associations participated, including the Commission with its greater queens, Marina Carrillo and Paula Mayor, and the subsequent spectacular fireworks castle to position of Pyrotechnics RICASA putting the icing on the intense days of joy that the city has lived.
The Club l'Espardenya’ won the first prize of the parade; a check of 1,000 euros. The second was for the ‘Bufats - La Traca’ club (600 euros) and the third prize went to ‘El Lindorf’ club (400 euros). The special prize for the best artisan carriage, endowed with 1,200 euros, was for ‘La Cordà’ club.
The day started with 'Festa de les Festes', where all the festive entities of the city were concentrated in the Neptune square to travel the central streets of the city until reaching Plaza de SSMM Los Reyes de España where they were received by the authorities, Queens together with their Court of Honor and Commission of Major Festivities, welcoming them and offering a wine of honor. Subsequently, the 'Mascletá' and sweet candy carafe were held for the little ones.
From Thursday, November 14, and until next Friday 22, in the Parish Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna, they will celebrate masses in honor of the patroness saint the Virgin of Sufragio at 6:00 p.m. Finally, a Thanksgiving Mass, on Saturday 23, will close the program of events of 2019 festivities.
