5,000 units will be made available to supporters during the celebration of #SemprePerLaFesta
Fiestas and Coca-Cola will distribute 10,000 reusable glasses during the FMP2021
Benidorm City Council and Coca-cola will collaborate for the second time in a recycling campaign during the Festes Majors Patronals. The Department of Festivities and the multinational soft drink company launch the "Sustainable Festes" campaign, which will consist of the edition of 10,000 glasses made with reusable and recyclable plastic.
The Fiestas Councilor, Jesús Carrobles, together with the Head of Communication of the Coca-Cola Valencian Community Delegation, Fernando Álvarez, today have presented the initiative that will distribute the first 5,000 units this weekend during the events organized by the Association de Penyes' Verge del Sofratge ”that will celebrate its #SemprePerLaFesta in the Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera.
Jesús Carrobles has said that in Benidorm “we will be lucky” because we will be able to celebrate Festes Majors Patronals, although “not the parties that we would all like”. We are, he pointed out, one of "the few cities in the Region that we are going to be able to have parties with great enthusiasm, great desire and, above all, with great respect and great security."
The glasses will be distributed in the events that take place in the city although "sadly" you will not be able to count on the clubs. Yes, there will be "concerts, pyrotechnics, the Comissió tent and some events organized by the Associació de Penyes in which glasses can be used, specifically this reusable glass."
Carrobles recalled that in Benidorm, at his parties, "we are leaders" with recyclable, mentioning the traditional glass collection campaign together with Ecoembes. With regard to plastic, the first collaboration with Coca-Cola "worked" and the collection of glasses "was greatly reduced in the city" so we have opted, again, for collaboration with the company.
For his part, Fernando Álvarez has announced that Coca-Cola's objective is “by 2025 to be able to collect and recycle 100% of the containers that we put on the market” and that campaigns like this are part of its “sustainability strategy to international level ”that focuses“ on recycling and everything related to the circular economy in relation to packaging ”.
Álvarez recalled Benidorm's participation in the Coca-Cola “Mares circulares” program, also aimed at promoting awareness in the defense of sustainability and the environment. "The location in all of Spain - he stressed - in which more people participated was here, on the beach in Benidorm." All these activities are an “obligation” of a “very powerful” company and “recognized throughout the world”.
