Toni Pérez emphasizes that "the lack of rail infrastructure at the airport makes the services that the rent-a-car service provides to passengers even more relevant"

Feneval holds its annual convention in Benidorm, attended by key players in the mobility sector

07 October 2025
Feneval celebra en Benidorm su convención anual con la asistencia de los principales actores del sector de la movilidad

The National Business Federation of Vehicle Rentals with and without Driver (Feneval) is bringing together the main mobility players (rent-a-car companies, manufacturers, and suppliers) today in Benidorm for its 48th annual Convention. Throughout the day, the sector's role within the tourism ecosystem and its contribution to the sustainability of new mobility will be highlighted.

The city's mayor, Toni Pérez, opened the event, held at the Villaitana Hotel, and stated in his speech that this sector "is very important for the country's economy, for local economies, and for tourism development."

Feneval also stated that in the province, "the lack of rail infrastructure on Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport air link makes the services that rent-a-cars with and without drivers can provide to all passengers arriving at the terminal even more relevant." In this regard, Pérez stated that Feneval's main foundation is, precisely, "tourism, serving people, offering them safe and sustainable mobility and a smooth journey."

The mayor emphasised that this year, in 2025, "we will once again break visitor records" and pointed out that once visitors arrive at the airport, "they are obliged to travel by road to any location in our province." On this point, he again demanded that the central government "complete and allocate a budget to implement this infrastructure necessary for our tourism development," referring to the railway infrastructure.

Finally, Toni Pérez expressed his hope that the reflections presented at the forum will be "fruitful" and that the speakers and professionals "can rest assured that they are not only working for you, but also, and with great importance, for two fundamental industries in our country: the automotive industry and tourism." The mayor also emphasised the "shared vocation for service, shared in the work we all do and in the hospitality we uphold not only nationally but also internationally."

Feneval convention was also attended by the federation's executive president, Juan Luis Barahona, and the director general of Transport and Mobility for the Community of Madrid, Luis Miguel Torres, who highlighted "Benidorm's leadership in sustainable mobility over several years."
