Employment announces a new edition of the Entrepreneurial Ideas Competition
In collaboration with AEDL, CEEI of Elche, Invattur, Obra Social of La Caixa, Jovempa and Memba
The department of Employment, through the Agency for Employment and Local Development (AEDL), has convened a new edition of the Entrepreneurial Ideas Competition; an initiative that considers "as an impulse for the creation of companies and the promotion of self-employment of entrepreneurs" of the city "with a viable business idea and generating employment", as the councillor of the area has pointed out, Mª Jesús Pinto.
Pinto has presented this 14th edition together with the representatives of the different entities that collaborate with this initiative: Francesc Pérez, of Obra Social La Caixa; Joaquín Alcaraz, of the European Center of Innovative Companies (CEEI) of Elche; the president of Jovempa Marina Baixa, Guillermo Campos; and Berenice Laporta, president of Memba. In addition, the Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies (Invattur) also participates in this initiative.
The head of Employment highlighted that year after year this event is getting results, since many of the winning ideas are developed as business initiatives. To contribute to this development, the Entrepreneur Ideas Competition includes several prizes for a total amount of 5,000 euros. Thus, the entrepreneur who provides the best idea will receive 2,500 euros, an iPad, and the registration as a Jovempa partner for one year; while the second classified will get 1,500 euros and an iPad Mini.
In addition, there are two second prizes worth 500 euros each for projects that highlight aspects of Benidorm's tourism promotion and social responsibility. Likewise, Invattur offers the possibility to the winning ideas to join its Business Incubator; and Memba, twelve months of free registration in the organization.
The delegate of the CEEI of Elche indicated that this contest explores the first way to start an innovative activity, which is "the idea", being "one more piece of the package of measures that the City Council has in terms of entrepreneurship" and that go "from the creativity, to the phase of the business plan and the help to the start-up procedures".
The representative of Obra Social La Caixa remarked that initiatives such as this contest are linked to "one of the main lines of action" of the foundation: "the generation of employment".
For their part, both from Jovempa and from Memba, they encouraged the entrepreneurs of Benidorm to participate and present their idea. Campos ensured that in this contest "everyone wins, because you learn a lot by developing the project," while Laporta stressed that perceived "changes in society and eager to undertake among young people."
Projects can be submitted until next June 29. The rules of the Contest are available on the bulletin board of the City Council and on the web www.benidorm.org/es/concurso-ideas-emprendedoras.
