Vicen Meneses and Beatriz Aramburu sign the exhibition that can be visited until April 29

'El árbol de los deseos' is exhibited in the Espai d'Art of Benidorm City Council

‘El árbol de los deseos’.

Kalpavriksha, the mythological tree of Sanskrit literature, inspires the artists Vicen Meneses and Beatriz Aramburu, founders and members of Pintoras de Benidorm, in an exhibition that opened its doors today at the Espai d'Art in the lobby of Benidorm City Hall where it will remain until April 29.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and other members of the municipal corporation, have accompanied the authors on a first tour in which fifty residents have participated, including a representation of Asmibe (Association of People with Disabilities of Benidorm and Region).

Toni Pérez has addressed the attendees to assess "very positively" the commitment of "a group of painters from Benidorm" who have been able to get involved "through their creations" with society. The aspect that has been demonstrated today is "the important representation of Asmibe that accompanies us".

For his part, Jaime Jesús Pérez thanked the work of "two people involved in the world of painting for life" and encouraged residents and visitors to come to the Espai d'Art to enjoy a "unique" exhibition. The head of Culture has stressed that proposals like this "continue" the line undertaken by his council with Benidorm Cultural that offers "art spaces" to "all those people, professionals or amateurs", who have an interest in it and wish to exhibit their work in the city.
Vicen Meneses, on behalf of the two artists, has justified the creation of this 'wish tree' in the very essence of Benidorm. A place where people go "looking for things and where they also get them" such as "the heat, the beach, the fun" and even "the work". "That's why - he emphasized - we deduced that the wishing tree was here, among us".

To all the attendees, Meneses and Aramburu have given small signed original works as a souvenir of the exhibition, reminding them that Kalpavriksha had conferred on them the grace of being able to get a wish, "but only one" since if they asked for more "it would not grant any ”.
Vicenta Meneses (1966) has a degree in Fine Arts from Miguel Hernández University, Altea Campus. Beatriz Aramburu (1940) has a doctorate in Psychology from the Pontifical University of Comillas and also a degree in Fine Arts from Miguel Hernández University, Altea Campus. Both have made numerous individual and collective exhibitions, especially in the Marina Baixa and the province of Alicante.
